Why Wait Arts Society is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting arts, culture, and community through event production, public programming, and collaboration. We are the producers of the annual Wicked Woods Music & Arts Festival, a multi-day event in the Columbia Valley that features music, visual art, performance, and wellness experiences.

In 2024, we restructured as the Why Wait Arts Society to reflect our expanded mission and year-round focus. Today, we support creative communities across British Columbia through artist-led initiatives, cultural events, and regional partnerships that foster artistic growth and contribute to local economic development. We provide platforms, resources, and experiences that connect people, elevate local talent, and strengthen the cultural and economic fabric of the Columbia Valley and beyond.

Our mission is to empower individuals and communities through the transformative power of the arts. Our work is guided by six core values: creativity, community, wellness, education, sustainability, and tradition.
