Surrounded by the stunning Rocky and Purcell Mountain ranges, and nestled in the valley of a thousand peaks, Invermere is home to approximately 3,500 permanent residents and serves the Columbia Valley from Radium Hot Springs to Fairmont Hot Springs. Invermere is situated on Lake Windermere which is one of the warmest and largest lakes in the region attracting boating and swimming enthusiasts as well as fishing and outdoor skating activities. It is a hub for world-class skiing, golf, hiking, rafting, climbing, and mountain biking. Tourism and Forestry are the leading industries in the area.

The Columbia Basin Alliance for Literacy (CBAL) is the Basin and Boundary's only not-for-profit literacy organization, working in 77 communities across south-eastern British Columbia. With nearly 150 staff and hundreds of volunteers, we are able to provide free literacy programs and services to people of all ages. We believe in the work we do because literacy and learning matter, and they are essential in creating strong and resilient communities that thrive.
